Assess your readiness for solopreneurship across autonomy, sales, financial resilience, execution, uncertainty, boundaries, and business-model fit.
By Solopreneurship WikiReviewed September 2026
Wiki note: Readiness is not a personality label; it is a set of capabilities and conditions that can be improved before you depend on the business.
The self-assessment highlights strengths and constraints across eight areas that matter in a one-person business. A lower score identifies preparation work; it does not mean you cannot become a solopreneur.

Calculate your result
Change the example assumptions to match your situation. Use consistent units and the same currency throughout.
Your result will appear here.
Enter your assumptions and select “Calculate result.”
Formula and assumptions
Each answer is scored from 1 to 5. The overall score is the average, while the two lowest dimensions identify the most useful next preparation steps.
Use source data where possible, record the date of your assumptions, and keep all monetary inputs in the selected currency. A precise-looking answer is only as reliable as the inputs behind it.
How to interpret the result
Read the category scores, not only the total. One severe constraint—such as no viable customer access or no financial buffer—can matter more than a high average.
Stress-test the decision
Run a conservative case, an expected case, and an optimistic case. Change one important assumption at a time so you can see what actually drives the answer. Define the action you will take if the conservative case occurs.
Worked example
A prospective founder scores highly on independent execution and customer expertise but low on selling and financial runway. The useful response is to practise customer conversations and extend runway before quitting a job.
Replace every example value with evidence from your own accounts, time records, quotes, contracts, or customer data. Save the result alongside those sources so it can be reviewed later.
Limitations
This is an educational reflection tool, not a psychological test, career assessment, or guarantee. Personal responsibilities, health, local regulation, and the opportunity itself require separate evaluation.
Calculator outputs are educational planning estimates. They are not financial, tax, legal, employment, investment, or medical advice and they do not guarantee a business outcome.
