Estimate one-time startup costs, monthly operating needs, owner runway, and contingency with this free solopreneur startup cost calculator.

Wiki note: A credible startup budget funds both the launch and the months before revenue becomes dependable.
This calculator separates one-time setup costs from the recurring cash needed to keep both the business and its owner operating. It produces a funded launch target, not merely the price of registering a company.
Use source data where possible, record the date of your assumptions, and keep all monetary inputs in the selected currency. A precise-looking answer is only as reliable as the inputs behind it.
How to interpret the result
Treat the result as a funding target. Compare it with unrestricted cash, then rerun the estimate with slower sales, higher setup costs, and a longer runway. If the gap is too large, reduce fixed commitments or validate the offer before buying nonessential assets.
Stress-test the decision
Run a conservative case, an expected case, and an optimistic case. Change one important assumption at a time so you can see what actually drives the answer. Define the action you will take if the conservative case occurs.
Worked example
A consultant enters 5,300 in one-time costs, 900 in monthly business expenses, 2,400 in monthly owner needs, six runway months, and a 10% contingency. The tool separates the 19,800 runway requirement from setup costs before adding the contingency.
Replace every example value with evidence from your own accounts, time records, quotes, contracts, or customer data. Save the result alongside those sources so it can be reviewed later.
Limitations
Quotes change, revenue can arrive later than planned, and personal expenses vary. The result does not replace a cash-flow forecast, local registration advice, or an emergency reserve.
Calculator outputs are educational planning estimates. They are not financial, tax, legal, employment, investment, or medical advice and they do not guarantee a business outcome.
